DRVC Thoughtful and Safe: Life Lessons

The Diocese of Rockville Centre is excited to offer a collection of videos called

“Thoughtful and Safe: Life Lessons” for Grades 1 through 9.

• The grades 1 through 6 videos, offer presentations by a police officer, a deacon, and various Catechetical Leaders from across our Diocese, that help us to identify strangers, safety, and lures.  
• The videos for grades 7 through 9, are lessons given by priests and lay leaders from around our diocese. The presentations for the upper grades contain the Church’s teachings on human dignity and how this impacts our ability to create safe, healthy environments. 

Each year the religious education programs of our diocese are required to offer safe environment lessons to the students.  At Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we will be showing these short videos to the children during the last two weeks of class.  You may view the presentations using the link provided here:  https://sites.google.com/view/thoughtful-and-safe/home?authuser=0

In class option:  If we do not receive a response from you, then your child will be viewing the “Thoughtful and Safe: Life Lesson” during class.  This will fulfill the diocesan requirement. 

To Opt Out:  To Opt Out of the lesson, simply respond by using the form provided here:

If you choose to Opt Out, parents may view the presentation at home with their children and fill out the corresponding form.  The response form is called “Confirmation of Completion Parent Letter” and can be found at the bottom of the video page. (click on link above for videos) 

Please submit the form to the parish office at your earliest convenience.  This will fulfill the diocesan requirement.
